Fondée à Vancouver en 2007 par Maggie Winston, la compagnie Lost & Found Puppet Co. est basée à Montréal depuis janvier 2016. Elle a participé à divers festivals tels que OUF! Festival Off Casteliers (Montréal), Vancouver Fringe Festival, Out The Box Puppetry Festival (Le Cap, Afrique du Sud). Lost & Found Puppet Co. explore la relation entre les humains, les objets, les plantes et les animaux. 

Artist Bio:

Lost & Found Puppet Co., now based in Montréal, QC (since 2016). Created in Vancouver, BC (2007) . Members of the company consist of Maggie Winston and any person joining it for any given project. L&FPCo. produces original performances, facilitates community engaged art projects, and teaches puppetry and performance workshops for various ages and abilities. We are dedicated to promoting the art of puppetry as a unique and valued art form everyone can experience.

Every production is created through devised or creation based theatre processes, utilizing puppetry in many styles. Productions also incorporate physical theatre, clown, storytelling, music, and other multidisciplinary art practices.

Themes such as family, cultural history, human relationships to objects, nature, and spirituality are the inspirations. There are stories about lost socks, giant junk monsters, larger-than-life invasive plant species, beaver dreams, and grandma’s memories in her recycled quilt.

L&FP Co. has toured throughout Canada, the USA and internationally at festivals, theatres and other venues.

Maggie Winston is a puppeteer and community engaged artist who facilitates transformative creative processes with an emphasis on inclusion and imagination. Originally from Baltimore, MD, USA, Maggie graduated from Carver Centre for Arts and Technology (MD, USA), she received a BA in Performance/Puppetry at Sarah Lawrence College (NY, USA), and trained at British American Drama Academy (London, UK). She received clown training at Fantastic Space Enterprises (BC, Canada). 

Maggie is currently studying puppetry at l’Université de Québec à Montréal in the Diplôme d’études supérieures spécialisées (DESS) en théâtre de marionnettes contemporain. She is facilitating arts engaged projects at various schools through the ArtistInspire and ACE programs through the English Language Arts Network (ELAN). She also teaches theatre at Montreal Children’s Theatre.

Recipient of Vancouver Mayor’s Arts Award- Emerging Artist in Community Arts (2010).
